During the run-up to the 2012 elections, several groups and individuals with liberal and progressive views created facebook pages with the inent of scouring the Internet for content related to politics. The content, much of very credible, and all of it credible at least as far as he facts presented, was very critical of Republican ideology and politicians. Much of the content was also created by the owners and visitors to the pages who posted there to make their statement.
As time passed, others increasingly posted content or comments to the postings challenging, ridiculing or simply ranting about the material being posted. Always without substantive argument or logical merit, their posts are largely also simply abusive. Those page owners and participants who had little prior knowledge about contemporary politics, history and economics soon learned from the material they found. Consequently, the few who challenged the content with their best evidence were fairly easily debunked by participants and page owners. While these other often continued to post to the pages, and were repeatedly debunked, there were two other classes of "others" who posted.
The two other classes of people were those who simply wished to disrupt the dialog, the trolls, and what appeared to be cynics. Since the more adept trolls usually assume the guise of a cynic, it is difficult to know whether they are just venting their general discontent or seek to disrupt the dialog, and possibly play against the discontent with radical liberals who are dissatisfied with the performance of the Obama administration.
The pay-per-post and organized troll issue will not be addressed here, except as it related to their posts exhibiting delusion, and the pure cynics may or may not be addressed beyond the content already here. The theme of this site and content addressing them is a bit hyperbolic, but only insofar as the object of their delusions are not aliens. Many of them do perceive conpiracies that can only be qualified as delusions.
The purpose of this page is rather to address those visitors with partisan republican views who come to the liberal and progressive pages, and comment on the content. They all have delusions about their grasp of the issues ranging from those who believe they are more intelligent that liberals and progressives, whom they lump together under the liberal lable, and others simply believe the Republican rhetorical devices used to deceive them are fact. Their delusions will be addressed on The Deluded page.
